Disciples Are Warriors

Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.  When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.  Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Jesus gave his disciples a direct command before He left, a job to do, this is for all of His disciples, not a request but a command.

“If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple.  And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.

The cost of being a disciple is your life, in order to be a disciple you must follow Jesus commands, and let nothing stop you from doing His will and obeying all of His teachings. Jesus is the Word that means everything He spoke is for you to obey.

As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen.  “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”  At once they left their nets and followed him. When he had gone a little farther, he saw James son of Zebedee and his brother John in a boat, preparing their nets.  Without delay he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him.

Everything Jesus spoke was spoke to His disciples, all of His words was directed to His disciples, when He spoke they listened and obeyed immediately, they did not delay or wait or stall, they just simply obeyed.

He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.  Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.  And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues;  they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”

Jesus was very plain as to what He expected from His disciples, He did not expect them to shrink back, or put their trust in man, He did not expect them to become lazy in their doings, He expected his will to be done by them, He expected their faith to be strong, if He said it He expected it to be done, He expected them to believe everything he said, and several times when their faith was weak, He scolded them and said oh you of little faith, how long must I baby you.

American Christians have unfollowed Jesus, they are following pastors, pastors are weak men who have pushed Jesus out of the church and turned the building into a religious fiasco. It is time for the Disciples of Christ to come alive, wake up and do the will of God. Disciples are warriors, those who the things of this world do not hinder the things they were commanded to do. Jesus told them the greatest disciple is the servant of all, the one who does not complain about doing the will of God.

    1. Thanks for commenting, it's pretty encouraging when you preach the truth to have someone who likes what your saying. Most don't want anything to do with you. Getting people on board is next to impossible. I have been on your group, I like it, I just try not to get into to much conversation, because the truth offends people and they end up in an argument most of the time.
